Charging Your Affirmations To Power Up Your Life
Why your words need an emotional current to back them up and create a new wave of energy
Feeling is the language that speaks to the Divine Matrix (the Universe). Feel as though your goal is accomplished and your prayer is already answered. Gregg Braden
Has anyone looked you straight in the eye and lied to your face? And could you detect it?
Here’s the thing about lies: they work best when there’s emotion attached to them.
If someone seems “off” or jittery when they tell you a lie, you can feel it, can’t you?
The same thing happens when we lie to ourselves.
Our bodies and that little nagging voice in our heads both say: “That’s a lie”.
If we think that we can tell ourselves:
I am wealthy
I am a magnet to money
I am successful
I am beautiful
Without knowing it’s a lie, then we’re deluding ourselves. Our bodies know. Our vibrations reveal the truth.
Just saying the words “I am wealthy” will result in, “No, that’s a lie”. The Universe will pick up the vibration of the lie, and give us the truth in return: that we are not wealthy.
And the needle will never move.

If we want change in our lives, ie: to become wealthy when in this moment we know that we are not, we have to do more than just lie to ourselves.
We have to believe it.
When we believe it, the Universe will to.
So How Do We Believe It?
By using our deliberate power over our own emotions. We can calm ourselves down when we’re upset. We can decide to feel happy when the bills are piling up.
Is it easy?
Gosh, no.
But it’s possible. We’re built for it.

It takes a deliberate intention to feel a better emotion.
So, how does this apply to affirmations?
Well, the words we tell ourselves matter. That’s a given. Even when it’s a lie, we know it.
But introduce a new factor (emotion) into the equation and the outcome of that equation will change.

Emotion is the secret factor in charging up your emotions and changing the outcome of your life.
If you want to have more money in your life, then your affirmations have to start coming with some feeling.
If you aren’t capable of experiencing the feeling of wealth while you are affirming your wealth, then start somewhere different on the scale. You can’t attract wealth while feeling stressed at your bank account. So start somewhere else.
Start with an emotion you can call forth. Maybe it’s:
Calm
Peace
Grateful
Safe
Healthy
Once you master the control of these feelings, you can summon bigger feelings:
Abundant
Confident
Sure
The affirmation: “ I am wealthy” paired with the emotion of abundance is exactly what charges up that affirmation.
Without emotion, your affirmation will die, because of the lie.
The language of the Universe is not English, not French, not Hindi, not Japanese…
But emotions.
If you’re struggling to conjure up an appropriate emotion to match your affirmations, here are a few things you can do to charge them up.
Use Your Memory
Recall a time in your life when you did feel abundant, or safe, or grateful, or happy.
Maybe it’s a funny conversation.
Maybe it’s the birth of a child.
Maybe it’s a celebration of some sort.
Maybe it’s a vacation you took.

I love remembering my wedding day. Happiest day of my life. Oh, what a party we had! Surrounded by our loved ones, our best friends, a great dj, lots of prosecco and dancing! Oh, the dancing!!!
2. Stop Saying “I Am”
For now at least.
And start saying “How would it feel if….” This way you’re not lying to yourself, but instead, you’re giving your brain a task. You’re instructing it to seek out “how it would feel if…” you were wealthy, happy, respected, confident or joyful.
3. Change Your Body Language
Say your affirmations when your body is in motion, not slumped in a chair. Walk with intention, with power, with posture and with a smile. Use the powerful resource of your body to change your mental state.
I mentioned dancing earlier. I love to dance.
And I love to tell myself positive affirmations when I dance.
It just makes me feel invincible.

Affirmations aren’t about convincing society, it’s about convincing ourselves.
And when we convince ourselves, we convince the Universe.
That’s when change happens.
That’s when we create our lives with deliberate intent.
