My Experiment With My Personal Power & How The Universe Responded
It Only Took A Few Minutes
We all have powers of manifestation and creation, but most people don’t use them to their advantage.
Most people spend their lives in a reactive state.
But using your own personal power allows you to live in a more proactive state and it gives you more control.
It’s like paving the road before you drive down it, rather than hoping someone will one day fill those potholes for you.
The trick to pre-paving your road, or proactively living, is to live an event, emotionally, before it happens.
Before you do whatever it is that’s on your agenda today, imagine yourself happy, after the event.
Using the road analogy, let’s say you have a long drive ahead of you and you’re worried about the traffic, and how long it will take to arrive at your destination...and the weather forecast isn’t looking too great either.
Before you step into your car, take a few moments to yourself. Close your eyes and imagine yourself arriving safely at your destination. Imagine feeling satisfied and happy with the long drive you just took.
The next thing you have to do is important, and it’s the part most people leave out:
Feel those feelings of happiness and satisfaction.
You know what happiness feels like, so feel it. You know what satisfaction feels like, so feel it.
This is your personal power being put to use: Steering your emotions to an event in the future, and deciding how you want to feel.
We recently came back home from Christmas at my in-laws. It’s at minimum a 5 hour drive. I don’t like being in the car that long, and especially at Christmas the traffic is usually atrocious and the weather not much better.
In fact, the forecast was for fog and rain. Great. Super. Just what you want when you’re driving for at least 5 hours.
But, I did this exercise before we left. I sat down, closed my eyes and imagined us getting home, safe and sound, feeling relaxed and grateful for an easy drive.
THEN I FELT THOSE FEELINGS.
And you know what? For the first time in years (we make this trip most Christmases) the traffic was okay. Not exactly empty roads, but not too bad. Better than I can remember in a long time.
And the weather?
Fine. It was sunny for most of our trip. Didn’t rain at all. The fog did appear when we were about 45 minutes away from home, but it was only a problem if you were in an airplane. On the road, visibility fine. The fog only descended and became thicker when we were literally about a minute from home.
It took us 5 hours and 15 minutes.
How’s that for ordering a good result ahead of time?
Could it have been just good luck?
Or did I make my own good luck?
I know what I believe, but I’ll let you decide.
But what’s the harm in trying?
