We’ve all encountered the most dangerous (and real) type of vampire.
The energy vampire.
This is someone who we’d swear on a a stack of bibles, is deliberately trying to pull us down into the pits of despair.
There is no joy in life, and they want you to know it.
Nothing good ever happens, and they want you to know it.
Something good happen did happen to you? Well, here’s 50 reasons it wasn’t so good after all.
The sun is shining, it’s going to rain later on.
Someone buys us a coffee, they must have an ulterior motive.
Being with them slowly drains you of any positive energy you may have had. Your shoulders slump, as does your head. You let out a big sigh, hoping to find some relief.
And there is.
I’ve always advocated trying to avoid or limit contact with an energy vampire, but sometimes you can’t. They may work with you, be your next door neighbour, or be a member of your family.
When you can’t avoid an energy vampire, use their negativity and transmute it in to positivity.
Here’s how.
When someone is trying to drain your positive energy, instead of reacting to it, become aware of it. Mentally step outside of the situation and be an observer.
Note to yourself: “This person is trying to drain me.”

Observe the intensity of their energy, rather than the charge (+ or -). This will help prevent you from labelling it as “bad”.
2. Breathe in their energy, and visualize a furnace inside you, take their energy, and burn it in the flames.
This is using The Law Of Perpetual Transmutation Of Energy which says that energy is always moving. It can never be destroyed, but it can be re-channeled, re-imagined and re-distributed.
Think “using fear to channel courage”
Or “using pain to channel creativity”
Imagine the heat of the vampire’s energy burning and transmuting into something new. Something powerful and motivating.
It’s like applying heat to an ice cube and watching it melt into water.
3. As soon as possible, take that transmuted energy and deliberately direct it towards something positive.
Give someone an unexpected compliment.
Smile generously at everyone.
Make a charitable donation.
Create some form of art.
Hold the door open for a stranger.
Have you ever used a compost bin? If you have, you know how waste can be used to create beauty and sustenance.
Manure does the same.

Energy vampires are everywhere. Just turn on the news if you’re in doubt.
But we don’t have to let their energy drag us down.
We can consciously and deliberately take that heavy energy, burn it, and re-purpose it into something beautiful.
Once you get the hang of this, energy vampires will no longer disturb your peace, and they’ll go hunting for a new victim.
Hopefully, they’ll read this too.
